Lynne - the Mum Megs - the Cool one ! We are a small family coming from England and South Africa. Interests include, for the family as a whole, camping, the outdoors, cinema, reading, cycling and Megs is becoming quite the fashion designer and song writer. We live just outside Cambridge close enough for convenience but sufficiently far to be secluded. Check out our village here Chris fishes - freshwater - and spends many a happy hour in the company of birds, foxes and dear in the local country park. Check out this link to the Country Park which has become his hideaway in recent years. There is a small Fishing Gallery included on the site which shows just a few of Chris's piscatorial captures. Chris was born in South Africa and lived there until 1977. He went to Western Province Preparatory School in Cape Town until the age of 12 years and then spent 3 years at St Andrew's College in Grahamstown in the Eastern Province where he represented his school in both rugby and athletics until he left South Africa on 2 August 1977. Arriving in the United Kingdom in Jubilee Year, celebrations were well under way commemorating 25 years of the rule of Queen Elizabeth II. On 15 September 1977, Chris started school at St Peter's College in Radley, Oxfordshire - better known as Radley College and studied here for three years, also playing rugby in the 1st XV, and representing Oxfordshire Schools and the Harlequins Rugby Football Club throughout that period. He also enjoyed some success in track & field, and was twice Vale of the White Horse Champion of 100m, 200m, shot and javelin. Chris works for the Royal Mail as the Mail Centre Manager in East Anglia covering the University City of Cambridge, the Suffolk town of Newmarket, historic home to the sport of Kings, horse racing, and the Cathedral City of Ely, capital of The Fens. Saffron Walden, a fine example of an Essex medieval market town, and the historic market town of Haverhill, recorded in the Domesday survey in 1086, also form part of his area. Check out the new Royal Mail Group plc website. Born and raised in Cambridge, Lynne is the middle of 5 children born to Geoff and Maria - check out the photo album to see her as a little girl - cute ! The driving force behind the family, Lynne has worked as a Nursery Nurse since 1978 and has gained a huge amount of experience in childcare and development over this period. Recently passing her Diploma in Pre-school Practice, Lynne worked extremely hard to achieve her excellent pass, holding down a full-time job, a two year course and of course, looking after the family. Only she could do that. Working at a local Nursery, she has been instrumental in the development of countless children and colleagues, and recently had the unusual experience of working with a young woman who Lynne used to care for as a baby almost 20 years ago. Interestingly, that young woman remembered her distinctly, and has grown into a fine person. The mother of our child, and also my very best friend - Lynne is that and much, much more. Or Megs, as we call her, is our pride and joy. Born on 7 October 1991, she continues to provide all the challenges, joy, laughter, surprises, and every other experience you can imagine. She is our babe, and always will be. She loves being outside - she is a real fresh air champion - windows always open, hair blowing in the breeze. She loves charging around the village, seeing friends and growing more and more independent each day. She now has her own Meg's Photos on the site with a collection of pictures from just a few days old to 13 years included. In her second year at senior school, Megs is progressing well with her studies, and particularly enjoys drama, dance and English. There are many hours spent in the week where we are told to watch her dance, or listen to her sing - long may it continue ! She just needs to spend a little less time on MSN, and we'd see lots more of her ! Junior school is here. Senior school is
here.
